“For all bodies are in perpetual flux like rivers, and parts are passing in and out of them continually.”
― Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Monadology

Split Monadology consists of a wooden stand as a metaphoric altar, carved with abstract organic shapes reflecting evolutionary stages of various creatures. Embedded within this frame are a nest of furs. Suspended above the display is a turning hand sculpture, reminiscent of a divine or guiding force. The piece seeks evolution's driving forces: is it the result of environ- mental free will or a divine, predetermined plan?
